SUMMARY:Day 0: Workshop Prep
DESCRIPTION:Day 0 is an optional preparation session designed to make sure participants have the command-line\, HPC access\, and software setup needed for the main workshop. \n\n\n\nWhat You’ll Learn\n\n\n\n\nCommand-line basics\, including navigating directories\, viewing files\, piping commands\, and editing files\n\n\n\nShell scripts and $PATH\n\n\n\nConfirming HPC account and allocation/queue access\n\n\n\nInstalling or testing Nextflow\n\n\n\nConfirming Docker or Singularity/Apptainer availability\n\n\n\nRunning a short environment sanity-check script\n\n\n\nRequesting an interactive HPC session using salloc\n\n\n\nLoading required modules such as Nextflow and Singularity/Docker\n\n\n\n\nNC State participants: We will help confirm your HPC account and allocation/queue access during Day 0. \n\n\n\nExternal participants: You should already have an active account and allocation on your institution’s SLURM-based HPC cluster and know how to request an interactive session on that system. \n\n\n\n \n\n \n Register Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n \n Prequisites & Audience

SUMMARY:Main Nextflow Workshop Day 1
DESCRIPTION:What You’ll Learn\n\n\n\nDuring this hands-on workshop\, you will learn how to: \n\n\n\n\nUnderstand why workflow managers are useful for reproducibility\, portability\, and scalability\n\n\n\nBuild your first Nextflow process and workflow\n\n\n\nUse channels to move data between processes\n\n\n\nConnect multiple processes into a bioinformatics pipeline\n\n\n\nConfigure pipelines using parameters and Nextflow configuration files\n\n\n\nOrganize processes into reusable modules\n\n\n\nIntegrate containers using Singularity/Apptainer or Docker\n\n\n\nConfigure Nextflow to run jobs through SLURM\n\n\n\nBuild and run a complete bioinformatics workflow on an HPC cluster\n\n\n\nBy the end of the workshop\, participants will have built\, containerized\, and run a complete four-step bioinformatics pipeline: FASTQC → trimming → FASTQC → alignment\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n Register Here\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n \n Prerequisites & Audience
