Bio

Dr. Zhou is a Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program faculty member at North Carolina State University (NCSU). She is a Professor in Biological Sciences and an Adjunct Professor in Statistics. Her research focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced statistical methods for biomedical science and precision medicine. Her work addresses fundamental challenges in developing trustworthy AI systems for healthcare, with applications spanning clinical decision support, therapeutic target discovery, genomics, microbiome research, environmental health science, and computational toxicology.

Dr. Zhou is a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. With a robust academic background and a focus on cutting-edge research, she is dedicated to advancing our understanding of how climate change affects human health and developing innovative solutions for a sustainable future.

Dr. Zhou’s research integrates sophisticated machine learning techniques and statistical models to predict disease patterns, assess environmental health risks, and develop precision medicine strategies. By analyzing large-scale climate and health data, she aims to uncover insights that inform effective climate adaptation and mitigation strategies, ultimately working to reduce the health impacts of climate change.
